MAIN PURPOSE

To design commercial, CAD, graphic artwork, imagery and garment aesthetic specification packs for product required, in line with Woolworths' taste level and commercial requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Driving the graphics direction of the Womenswear brand through research and developing an innate insight and understanding into the ‘heart’ of the brand so as to develop and drive a ‘signature’ to the brand which is unique and distinguishable both locally and internationally.

Create storyboards, sketches, drawings of new designs and specification packs as directed

Understand trending silhouettes, key shifts and changes for upcoming season and translate into commercial proposals for Woolworths

Understand garment construction, fabrication and manufacturing terminology to ensure accurate garment execution

Developing designs and packs in conjunction with the designers and buyers for final sign-off in reviews

Deliver to BU scorecard and group strategies

Understand our customer through store visits and competitor analysis

Manage on time delivery of the merchandise cycle

Build partnerships with Buying, Sourcing and Technology and work in an integrated way to optimise procurement of product

KEY COMPETENCIES

Technical Skills:

1-2 years Fashion/Graphic Design experience

Relevant Fashion/Graphic Design diploma/degree

Understanding of garment construction, fabrication and manufacturing

Creativity, taste level and flair in line with the brand

Ability to sketch

Computer Literacy, including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and other relevant computer packages essential

Trend analysis and editing skills in line with commercial needs

Behavioural Skills:

Merchant and retail ability

Persuasiveness

Interpersonal skills – ability to work with diverse groups of people

Effective communication and presentation skills

Team Player – service orientated
